The Self-Kindness Project believes that strategic and consistent care, kindness and compassion towards the self are the foundation for positive change in our community.
Trainings and Seminars
In all offerings from The Self-Kindness Project, we prioritise working with the most up to date tools, techniques and information. All our trainings are evidence based to support a physiological change and from that a mental and emotional change.
We also support the understanding of how developing the skill of bringing kindness and care to the self results in better kindness and care to others – helping to foster a kind, compassionate society. See our ‘services’ page for more details.

Some of the techniques currently used in the project
One of the systems of training we use currently is from The HeartMath Institute® – a research based scientifically validated education and training organisation that is committed to positive global change, one heart at a time. Willow and Catherine are recognised Australian licensed trainers for these techniques.
HeartMath® programs help to identify stress triggers, learn how to deploy focused techniques designed to reduce emotional stress, change the response to stress and build the capacity for self-care
What participants have reported
The Self Kindness Project gives you empowerment that ripples through your whole life!! In all of my professional and teaching career I have not felt this connected to my students and patients, free from judgement, nervousness and self consciousness. My lessons have become more meaningful and passionate and I have noticed a difference in my students when I am truly coherent

Willow and Catherine make things fun and easy to learn. They provide an empowering, accessible inspiration in walking the talk of living a compassionate, engaged life. I now have tools that allow space between the stressors of life and my reaction to them and the spin off effect of using the heart-mindfulness tools, is that the joy of the small moments of being present in the hearts experience spills over to make life feel like a rich, creative journey again rather than an endurance event. I would recommend anyone feeling the burden of stress in the modern world learn what Catherine and Willow are so passionate about teaching

As a parent, I was quickly drawn to this method with its simple tools. I soon felt a sense of mastery over anxiety and frustration and I have finally found peace. I can feel the joy and fun in life again. I am so grateful to Willow and Catherine for bringing these techniques to Perth and mentoring me. I felt a sense of calm and belonging whenever I was in their presence.

Before I learned the tools from the Self Kindness Project, I knew I was not experiencing life the way I wanted to. On the surface life was plentiful but I struggled to see and really feel this. As I began to apply the tools and techniques this has all changed. I don’t get upset by the small things so much now. I can show the love and care I deeply feel towards my beautiful daughters more than ever and can stay soft with and blame less my loving partner. These tools are now my everyday weaponry against negativity, self pity, burn-out and overwhelm. To have such tools at my fingertips is a blessed relief. I am now filled with appreciation and wonder for life which had become lost to me. I thank Willow and Catherine everyday.

The Self Kindness Project with Catherine and Willow has given me a “a magic tool belt” to cope with difficult and stressful situations, but also to stand still and embrace the beautiful moments.
